Questions people actually ask
Do I have to type my whole kitchen in?
No. Photograph a receipt and Nudgey pulls the items off it for you to check. There is also a quick-add for entering a few things at once. The scanning happens on your phone, so it works offline and costs nothing to use.
Does Nudgey need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no email address and no password. Your inventory is stored on your device and never sent anywhere.
Can my partner use it too?
Not as a shared list — Nudgey does not sync between phones, by design. Premium can be shared through Family Sharing so nobody is asked to pay twice, but each phone keeps its own inventory.
What happens if I get a new phone?
Restoring a new phone from its usual iCloud or Android backup brings Nudgey’s data across with everything else. Setting a phone up from scratch is the case that is not covered yet — there is no manual export today.
Is there an Android version?
Not at first. Nudgey launches on iOS, with Android following a few weeks later.
Does it work offline?
Entirely. Your inventory, expiry nudges, receipt scanning and shopping list all run on the device with no connection required.
Is the shopping list free?
Yes, all of it — multiple lists, staples, re-buy suggestions, store mode and the check-in that puts what you bought back into your inventory. Premium is only about cooking: recipes, barcode scanning and expanded product search.
Where do the recipes come from?
TheMealDB. Nudgey ranks them against what is in your kitchen and flags the ingredients that need using — the recipe data is theirs.
